Get a Beautiful New Smile in Just Two Visits
Veneers are durable, tooth-colored shells made of porcelain that are placed over the front surfaces of your teeth to eliminate cosmetic issues. Veneers can erase your concerns regarding the shape, size, color, condition, or length of your teeth.
Without moving your teeth you can have a flawless, bright smile before you know it.
How Do Veneers Work?
The process of getting veneers is typically completed in two appointments. After consulting with Dr. Hatch to see if you’re an ideal candidate for dental veneers, you’ll return to our office so we can take an impression of your teeth.
You may be a good candidate for dental veneers if you have:
- Cracked or chipped teeth
- Small gaps between your teeth
- Have slightly crooked or misaligned teeth
- Teeth that are resistant to whitening agents
- Uneven teeth
- Small or poorly shaped teeth
During your consultation, Dr. Hatch can do a chairside mock-up — placing temporary composites that last just a few days on your teeth so you can get a clear idea of what your new smile will look like.
At your next appointment, Dr. Hatch will prepare your teeth for the veneer application. This consists of removing a small amount of enamel to ensure smooth application and a natural-looking fit. Your custom veneers will be crafted in a laboratory, a process that can take 2-3 weeks.
To protect your teeth in the meantime, you’ll be given temporary veneers. At your next appointment, your temporary veneers will be replaced with your brand new custom restoration. Then, you can enjoy your perfect new smile.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the veneers procedure painful?
No, the veneers procedure isn’t painful. If you’re anxious or have sensitive teeth, Dr. Hatch can administer sedation so you’ll feel comfortable during the procedure.
Otherwise, the treatment is known to be minimally invasive and the recovery is fast as well. If you do experience any post-op discomfort, we recommend taking OTC pain relievers to help.
How long do veneers last?
If well cared for, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 15 years, or even longer. Daily brushing and flossing paired with regular checkups at Arizona Dental Heights will help extend the life of your veneers.
When it comes time to replace your veneers, all you need to do is schedule an appointment at our Mesa office. This appointment is done quickly with Dr. Hatch so you can enjoy your beautiful smile right away.
Does dental insurance cover veneers?
Usually, dental insurance will not cover veneers because it’s considered a cosmetic procedure. If you Dr. Hatch is repairing a tooth with a veneer and that’s the only option, your provider may be able to cover a portion of your treatment.
However, we feature a number of financial options to make your care as affordable as possible, so be sure to ask our team about them during your visit.
What if my veneer falls off or is damaged?
If your veneer falls off or becomes damaged, please call our office right away to get in for an appointment. We suggest that you keep the loose veneer with you in a safe place so you can bring it to our office.
Dr. Hatch can fix or replace your veneer when you come in, even if we didn’t originally provide it.
Do veneers work for crooked teeth?
If your teeth are slightly crooked or misaligned, veneers can help improve their appearance. They can be placed over the surface of your tooth to provide a straightened look for your smile.
If your teeth are too crooked for veneers, we’ll recommend orthodontic treatment. This can all be discussed during your consultation with Dr. Hatch.
